While a certain amount of stress can help us adapt and stay motivated, too much — for example, from heavy workloads, trauma, relationship breakdowns, or financial strain — can overwhelm our coping resources and lead to anxiety or psychosomatic symptoms.

Depression

What Is Depression?

Panic Disorder

What is panic disorder?

Panic disorder is often represented by recurrent panic attacks. Panic attacks can be caused by anxious experiences, stressful events, chronic conditions, or following a trauma.

Symptoms of panic attacks

  • Palpitations, pounding heart
  • Sweating
  • Shaking
  • Feeling of shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Nausea or abdominal distress
  • Feeling dizzy or faint
  • Derealisation (feeling unreal) or going crazy

Generalised Anxiety Disorder is characterised by excessive anxiety and chronic worry.

How I Can Help

In treatment for anxiety in all its forms, I mainly use a holistic approach that applies principles and rationale of the cognitive-behavioural model. It develops self-awareness and self-control through therapeutic strategies and tools that help the client to manage particular situations.
